For OMS residents

Finishing residency? Put your own name on the door.

You trained to be a surgeon, not to run a business. Since 2010, we've helped launch more than 250 oral surgery practices, and we can guide you from your first location search through opening day and beyond, while you keep 100% ownership.

Your options after residency

Join a group as an associate

A fast start with an established schedule, though you build value in someone else's practice.

Join a DSO

Corporate support and a steady salary, usually with less control over how the practice runs.

Buy an existing practice

An established patient base, when the right practice is available in the right market.

Start your own practice

Your name on the door, your team, your vendors and 100% ownership of the value you create.

Common questions

When should I start planning my practice during residency?

Earlier is better. Many surgeons begin a year or more before they want to open, because site selection, financing and construction all take time.

Can a new oral surgeon get financing to start a practice?

Often, yes. Lenders regularly finance healthcare practice startups, and a strong business plan and financial projections make a real difference. We help you prepare and evaluate options.

Should I work as an associate before starting my own practice?

Some surgeons do, and some open right after residency. It depends on your market, finances and goals. We'll help you weigh both paths honestly.

How much does it cost to start an oral surgery practice?

It depends on the market, whether you build new or retrofit an existing space, and your equipment and staffing plan. We build a plan around a budget you control.

Do I have to give up equity to get support?

No. You keep 100% ownership of your practice. TEG is a management services organization, not a DSO.
